Officiants, Ministers,
and Judges for weddings
if you don’t have your own
Several of the ministers around here like to only officiate after they've counseled the couple through pre-marriage counseling. (Trying to prevent divorces in dealing with good discussions on many topics beforehand) That can vary from 2-6 sessions depending on the minister. If you want to make appointments for that, no problem! But there has been a case or two when the couple has been a specific denomination, ex. Methodist, and received their counseling from their familiar hometown pastor, but the denomination pastor in the ceremony town was glad to marry them after assured the premarital counseling had taken place. They have done this when the pastor who counseled them just couldn’t make the date work, charged too much mileage, or had similar circumstances.
