Jana Cott

Manager of Life’s Finer Moments

Administration and attention to detail are where I thrive. I hold a master’s degree in educational administration and have spent 13 years in the field of education. I’ve served as a youth pastor for 31 years, “Connections Coordinator” for 6 years, and for the last 14 years, I’ve managed our event venue—starting from the very first hole dug on our property. Many of these roles were fulfilled concurrently…so no, I’m not that old!

My husband is my second-best friend (Jesus is first), and together we’ve raised three adult children, gained wonderful in-laws, and welcomed our first grandchild.

Listening to your hopes and needs and helping them come to fruition are my goals. Let’s put my organization, enthusiasm, and efficiency to work—creating a true win for you.

Who Knew We’d be in the Event Venue World?!

We’re the Cotts. We farm together and we built Life’s Finer Moments in 2012. Hunters come to enjoy midwest hunting on our land. Our outfitter suggested we build a facility so when extended families came along, they’d have a large space to be together in. Kitchens, bedrooms, showers, a fireplace, etc. immediately became important. As planning progressed and our hospitality passion wasn’t forgotten, we morphed into a facility the community could use as well. From there, we decided the overnight accommodations needed to be separate, therefore, the cabins were constructed. It was truly a family project. Our older kids helped stain nearly every board inside and out. All have worked many hours there in various capacities. Folks utilize the venue for reunions, showers, corporate meetings, parties, ministry, private large BBQs, hayrack rides, a dinner theater, concerts, a giant “house” for weekend family gatherings, and weddings immediately rose to the top of the list.

The property consists of 40 acres with an event venue and several cabins. There’s easy access to regularly mowed walking trails, fishing ponds, a blue rock shooting area, a large firepit, and lots of privacy. We are often asked when we’ll build more cabins so retreat groups have enough beds. For hunters, Kansas offers the best hunting in the country so we are proud to host new faces each different hunting season. The best part of our job is meeting the people, hearing their stories, and discovering what brought them to our little part of the world. Hearing how someone hadn’t seen the stars so clearly before or experienced such a breathtaking sunset just gives us joy.

Our priorities include our personal growth in faith and the development of exceptional relationships within our family, with employees, and with customers.

It is our top desire to provide an affordable and family-friendly atmosphere that creates some of your

life’s finer moments.

Meet the staff that makes it all happen!

I don’t know how you keep up with the cabins and lodge. It’s like having 4 or 5 different houses. Everything is neat and orderly and so clean! -Megan C.
